Anupama Written Update 12th October 2024

In the current series of Anupama, as the Kapadia family is going through its daily routine, there is a lot of over-the-top drama, confusion, and some extremely poor decisions made by individuals. It is that sort of a day when one feels like taking one’s popcorn, reclining on a couch, and observing the commotion, not for Anupama though, in that case, maybe some tea for the anxiety.

The episode begins with Meenu who, for the lack of better terms, hits the wall. She accuses Dolly, pointing out that Aadhya’s life has already been spoiled and that Dolly has been playing everyone around her. Dolly, obviously hurt (and not one to shy off from hitting boundaries), retorts, claiming that every single thing she did was completely normal… because, for the family, every so often giving a punishment to an innocent is a healthy thing. Meenu, however, begs to differ, firmly declaring Aadhya’s innocence like a lawyer on the last day of trial.

Just when things are about to go from bad to “are they really doing this?”, bam—Anupama steps in and slaps Dolly. That’s right, folks, the famous Anupama slap makes a comeback. The sound reverberates across the room, and everyone’s face freezes in sheer shock. Dolly? Stunned. Anupama? Trembling, but clearly not messing around today.

At this point, we should probably call it: Anupama deserves an award for holding her family together. I mean, who in their right mind could be an arbitrator in a conflict like this and at the same time do the weekly grocery shopping?

Anupama Today Full Episode Written Update: Anupama Doesn’t Only Ask For Help

In a shocking turn of events, Anupama goes ahead and rings Anuj who is halfway across the globe and as oblivious to the chaos as possible.. She’s in tears, and Anuj, being the ever-concerned husband, promises to be home soon. (Though let’s be honest, if he knew what he was walking into, he might have considered staying just one extra day overseas for some peace and quiet.)

In true Anupama style, though, her plea is emotional and heart-wrenching, full of dramatic pauses that make you wonder if she’s also auditioning for a soap within a soap. This is the woman we love — strong, resilient, and ready to fix everything.

Dolly vs Aadhya: The Fire Incident

But the episode doesn’t stop there (of course not, where’s the fun in that?). Dolly begins recounting her version of events, where Aadhya supposedly pushed Dimpy into the fire. Yes, you read that right. Fires, accusations, and finger-pointing—just a regular Tuesday at the Kapadias. Toshu jumps in with his unsolicited two cents, criticizing Anupama’s parenting choices. Apparently, if something goes wrong, it’s always mom’s fault. Classic Toshu.

Kinjal, being the voice of reason (and possibly the only one with any sense), steps in to defend Aadhya. She and Dolly exchange enough heated glances to power a small town. Things take a sharp turn when Kinjal threatens to leave Toshu if he doesn’t retract the police complaint. Talk about raising the stakes. Toshu, ever the sweetheart, accuses Kinjal of cheating, because clearly, there’s nothing like adding a little more salt to an already burning wound.

Aadhya has made her great escape and things only get more complicated.

In the same period, Aadhya—bless her soul—has had it with being the punching bag and thus decides to bolt. Imagine this: a slow motion scene where she is running on the streets, eyes blurred with tears as the background music hits the high notes. She’s overheard on the radio, which only fuels her sense of betrayal. Her inner monologue is probably going something like, “Great, my life’s a public scandal now. Just what I needed.”

In a particularly heart-wrenching moment, she rips up a picture of Anupama. Gasp! You can feel her pain and confusion, but part of you also wonders: Did she just accidentally rip up the rent bill too? The symbolism, though—chef’s kiss.

Anuj’s Dangerous Journey

Now we move on to Anuj, who’s racing back home, blissfully unaware that his peaceful vacation is about to be rudely interrupted by his dear brother Ankush. Anuj starts to sense dizziness however it is not long before he suspects foul play. That ‘completely harmless’ drink of Ankush a few moments ago? More likely than not, it was laced.

In a plot twist that one would think only movies would depict, Ankush reveals his vendetta against him Anuj and how he is going to eliminate him. Just in case the drama was not enough, he actually goes ahead and pushes Anuj from a cliff. Everyday family squabbles. Anuj, in a manner which suggests he’s a cat, survives a near death experience by grasping hold of a tree branch, with danger ‘s thread underlying in his last rope strength. The scene is intense, but you can’t help but think, “How many dramatic cliffhangers—pun intended—does this show have?”

Anupama’s Intuition and the Cliffhanger (Literally)

Back at home, Anupama is, of course, sensing something is wrong with Anuj. This woman could probably tell if Anuj got a paper cut halfway across the world. Her gut feelings never betray her, all the more making her feel very restless. She is literally torn in between an internal conflict that wears her out and the contemplation of the real danger that the life of Anuj is under, making the space almost suffocating.

The episode leaves everyone on a very suspenseful note (intent remains punny) with Anuj’s hand almost reaching out and slipping out further. Will he fall? Will Ankush show any remorse? Is there a secret trampoline at the bottom of the cliff? Stay tuned!

Precap: More Chaos Incoming

In the precap, the madness continues as Aadhya is cornered by a group of bikers (because apparently, we needed a biker gang in the mix now). Anupama, meanwhile, clutches a peacock feather, her hope resting in the belief that this symbol means Anuj will return to her safely. We can only hope her instincts are right, because she’s due for at least one peaceful day!
